Recurrent Miscarriage
We recognise that repeated miscarriage causes as much distress as inability to conceive in the first place. There are many potential causes and some can be treated. In many cases, however, the reason is simply repeated bad luck, as the average chance of any pregnancy miscarrying is about one in eight. Exactly how to treat an individual couple requires specialist knowledge.

Many investigations are required to cover the various causes, but most can be simply done on blood samples, which can often be arranged through your GP before more specialist procedures here.

We will advise if any treatment is required before you try to conceive again. Often, however, all that is needed is the motional benefit of close monitoring of the fetal heart and growth, and hormone levels, from the very start of pregnancy.
