Your First visit

First contact with the Centre normally comes after referral by your GP or specialist. Unless there is a request to see a particular specialist, we select the appropriate person.

Whether hormone disorder, fertility, miscarriage, postmenopausal disturbance or sexual difficulties, the first consultation covers many questions. Because there is a limit to how much information can be absorbed, it lasts at least 45 minutes. For those with complicated matters such as infertility and assisted conception - involving technical, ethic and legal issued - we provide information booklets beforehand. You may need to put half a day aside for your visit.

If an ultrasound scan is needed this can usually be done at the time of your consultation. Other special investigations will be explained and arranged later.

Any tests done beforehand by your GP or specialist would normally be acceptable
